Our findings

A very pretty seventeenth-century Périgord house located at the centre of the village of Sainte Sabine-Born, "La Gentilhommière" offers two main attractions: several places to relax in different atmospheres and gastronomic meals whose quality has been recognised with a Michelin Guide star. The meals are served in a small, intimate restaurant seating 15, where Vincent the chef reveals his spontaneous and inventive style of cooking which blends together specialities from his native Périgord and his wife Anne's native Mediterranean regions. The four guest bedrooms are each decorated in their own styles, with unusual names: "Bicyclette Bleue" with a real bicycle fixed to the wall of the cabin-style bathroom, "Pointe Fine" named after an Alpine peak, with rustic timber decor, "Hippo & Girafon" with exotic African features and "Brigitte" with soft, very feminine hues. We advise you to visit the website www.gentilhommiere-etincelles.com to choose your favourite. In the flower-filled garden there is a swimming pool and tennis court to add to the attraction of this charming house which is an excellent base for exploring heritage attractions as famous as Monpazier, the Chateau of Brion, Bergerac, Cadouin and St Avit abbeys and the road to Sarlat. The Monbazillac vineyards are only 10km away and La Gentilhommière is classified as a "Vineyard Destination".
